YB Chang Lih Kang, Malaysia’s Minister of Science, Technology & Innovation and MCBC Led a Delegation to Xiamen and Yichuan, China
From 29 March to 2 April 2026, YB Datuk Chang Lih Kang, Malaysia’s Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, together with Tan Sri Dato’ Low Kian Chuan, Chairman of the Malaysia-China Business Council (MCBC), led a delegation to Xiamen and Yinchuan, China, to conduct a series of official engagements and site visits, further deepening Malaysia-China cooperation in economic, technological, and innovation sectors.
During the Xiamen programme, the delegation engaged with Xiamen Hengxing Group on the low-altitude economy and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technologies, exploring their applications in firefighting, public safety, and commercial operations. The delegation also visited Xiamen University to discuss technology innovation, talent development, and academia-industry collaboration, promoting stronger links between research institutions and industry.
The delegation then proceeded to Yinchuan, Ningxia, to attend the Sixth Belt and Road China-Malaysia Business Dialogue, participating in government-business exchanges and industrial visits. The discussions covered trade and investment, technological innovation, modern agriculture, and cultural tourism, while facilitating practical business partnerships. The delegation also visited local industrial parks and enterprises to learn about Ningxia’s achievements and potential in renewable energy, modern agriculture, and high-tech industries.
The visit further strengthened coordination between government, industry, and academia, deepened economic and industrial cooperation, and advanced the long-term development of Malaysia-China relations.
